Modern Art Episode 3
From this video I learned that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty can have a different meaning to different people and artists. In the video Matthew Collings does a great job discussing different artists and giving you an inside scope of what beauty means to them. Here is five questions I have from videos:
1. Why would Ofili add something criticizing to the beauty of his artwork?
2. Why was Matisse's main theme beauty?
3. Why does everyone like beauty?
4. Why was Olitski considered one of the greatest living painters?
5. Why was he obsessed with painting landscapes?

Art Project
I'm still deciding on the artist for the art project , but mostly inclined towards researching more on calligraphy and its use as architectural art. I still need to find an artist I can really research.
I would like to present more history and cultural significance of such art .
"Art Project"
For my project I would like to focus on the artist Ana Mendieta. As well as examine her specific works such as "Imagen de Yugal", "Silueta Works in Mexico", & "Untitled, 1973".
"Abstract Movement"
I would like my project to be about the abstract movement. I would like to explore this subject a little more. I was thinking I could talk about the artists that started this movement, why did they started it? Is it common today? Who is an abstract artist today?

Project's Objective
Through the time we studied about Art and artists, I have been impressive by Theo Jansen kinetic project. His "engine" art is very interesting. By using the force of the wind, Jansen let people see his art as a new future of human power regeneration. I will go more details on my project :)

I really dont know what to do the project about because I liked everything we have covered in class so far! Claude Monet and her water lilies caught my attention..but I'm not sure if I really want to do the project on her.
