Frida Kahlo was born in 1907 but claimed to be born in 1910 when the revolution started she wanted for people to associate her birth date with the birth of the modern Mexico. She contracted polio at the age of six and made her right leg thinner than her left that's why she used to wear long colorful skirts. In her teenage years she was in a car accident were she got injured and damage her reproductive ability. After this accident she decided to start her painting career while recuperating she once said "I paint myself because I'm so often alone and because I'm the subject I know the best". Out of her 143 paintings, 55 are self portraits. She wanted her show her pain on most of them she would say " I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality." Her work was inspired by the Mexican colors that you can see with her use of bright colors. I wanted to give a small review of her life to support all the painting she created and show that her life is behind all of them. As you can see on this picture "The Last Supper" she shows many of her famous work in one, showing many of her faces of lifetime suffering.
