After watching all the videos, my meaning of art and the way I see it has totally changed. I was not familiar with the artists that Matthew Collings discussed, but I really did learn a lot about them. I finally realized that every artist has a true meaning behind every work they make. I was surprised at Picasso's work of art because he made me see the world in a different way. Every picture he did was full of creativity that no one else could of thought of. He really open my mind and that's where I started seeing art in a different way. Pollock was one of the 2nd artist that Matthew Collings talked about. I never heard about him, but I got to see a lot of art through the video. He was a wild painter and I never understood why he always did crazy splatter lines all over the place until I learned his meaning behind it. I learned that Pollock art is deliberate sophisticated art, but good art. Every image he makes is full of tendemess. The art of Warhol is very popular. I never thought he could take something so small and make out of it something really creative and meaningful like the soup cans and Marilyn Monroe pictures. The video made me see Warhol's glamour behind his art work. Watching all this videos made me realize that art does not have to be pretty, and that art has different meanings to each one of us. Like Picasso once said, " I don't find, I seek."
Questions:
1. What was Pollock reason for doing wild paintings?
2. Why did Warhol said that, "art was dead," to him eventhough he still did art?
3. Did Picasso had a reason why he changed his art from beauty to ugly?
4. Was there a reason why Pollock dranked all the time and acted the way he acted?
5. Did Warhol do glamour art because he never get to live the glamour life like he wanted?
